My Journey Unspoken

Updated: May 4, 2022

My name is Bryan Seymour the founder of "Journey Unspoken." Have you ever struggled with something and felt embarrassed to talk about it? The purpose of this website is to help find a safe place for those suffering with pain and addictions. Often times churches and their leaders claim to be a safe place yet their actions show otherwise. They preach about a loving and compassionate God, yet when they are confronted with someone else's sin they are ready to treat them as an outcast. They dismiss Christ's example in scripture where he rebukes religious superiority and they neglect their own church manuals for guidance due to punitive traditions and old practices. As a Pastor since 2011 I have seen time and time again where religious leaders have treated people like social outcasts and many leaving the church do to this. My mission is not to discourage people from being a participant in church but to help those who have been wounded by it to rise up and become the church that God designed it to be. Proverbs 24:16 says "a righteous man falls seven times but rises again." The christian life is not about how many times you fall but how many times you get back up. The ministry of Jesus was one of compassion and service. In fact in Luke 19:10 it says "Jesus came to seek and save those that are lost." It is Christ's method alone that will give true success in reaching people. In a book called Ministry of Healing the author says "The Saviour mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them, 'Follow Me." I believe if we treat people the way Jesus did, we will truly understand how to become the church as Christ intended it to be.
